Coin Description Constantius II, AE 19mm, Grade ??, The obverse of the coin is very worn and not much detail is visible it also has a quite deep hole in the neck of the emperor, the reverse however shows an extreme amount of detail it looks a bit mottled but when you moisten the surface it becomes a beautifull green color, VM100
Obverse The portrait is of Constantius II a diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust looking right. The legend reads DN CONSTANTIVS PF AVG meaning: DN (Dominus Noster /our lord showing the emperor to be the supreme ruler) CONSTANTIVS (his name) PF (Pius Felix / Dutiful and Wise) AVG Augustus which defines him as the emperor. The legend is broken which is a sign of the highest respect and signifies him as the senior Augustus.
Reverse The reverse shows a roman soldier advancing left spearing a fallen horseman. The legend reads FEL TEMP REPARATIO which translates as "The restoration of happy times" or "Happy days are here again". Of course symbolizing Constantius as the person who restored those happy times by defeating some barbarians.
Mint The exergue reads TES which is the mint of Thessalonika. There is an S in the left field which is a mint sequence mark. There should also be a letter in the exergue that would give the officina but unfortunately its not visible.
